The Global Platform of China Cases (hereinafter "ChinaCases.Org"), operated by China Europe International Business School (hereinafter "CEIBS" or "We"), has long attached great importance to personal information and privacy protection. We will try our best to ensure the security and controllability of your personal information by taking measures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. When you use ChinaCases.Org products or services, we will collect, store, use and provide your personal information in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and this Privacy Policy (hereinafter "this Policy").

This Policy applies to ChinaCases.Org products and services, including its official website (domain name: www.chinacases.org). It should be noted that this Policy does not apply to services offered to you by other third parties through the aforementioned website or app (collectively referred to as the "third-party services"). This Policy does not govern the information you share with third-party service providers. Before signing up for a third-party service, please ensure you have been adequately informed of its product features and privacy policy.

Before using ChinaCases.Org products or services, please acknowledge that you have carefully read, fully understood and agreed to this Policy, especially the clauses in boldface. When you use ChinaCases.Org products or services, you will be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to this Policy and its regularly updated version, and have permitted us to collect and use your personal information as agreed upon in this Policy.

1.Definitions

The Global Platform of China Cases refers to the Global Platform of China Cases official website (domain name: www.chinacases.org), hereinafter referred to as "ChinaCases.Org."
ChinaCases.Org Provider refers to China Europe International Business School, the internet information and software service provider for the Global Platform of China Cases, hereinafter referred to as "CEIBS" or "We."
Personal Information refers to all kinds of information recorded by electronic or other means that can be used alone or combined with other information to identify a specific natural person or reflect the activities of a specific natural person.
Personal Information Deletion refers to the process of removing personal information from systems used for daily business operations to make the information irretrievable and inaccessible.

2.What Categories of Personal Information We May Collect and for What Purpose

2.1 Categories of information we may collect
When providing you with products and services, we probably will collect, store and use your "personal information," which may include, but is not limited to your name, age, gender, school/institution/college, personal information page on your organization's website, academic discipline, title, language used, personal photo, email address, mobile phone number, postcode, mailing address and other contact details. If you are a ChinaCases.Org user, your submitted email address will be used to receive a verification code when you register, log in, bind your account or retrieve your password, and as one of the contact details specified to receive ChinaCases.Org product/service notifications. When you use ChinaCases.Org products or services, we automatically collect details about how you use ChinaCases.Org, including information about your browsing, downloads and purchases.

2.2 Purposes for which we may collect, store and use your information
We undertake that we will collect, store and use your personal information for the following purposes only:

3.1 Information you provide to us includes but is not limited to:
Information from your organization when it signs up for access to ChinaCases.Org; and information from you when you register or log in on ChinaCases.Org; when you browse, download, use or purchase cases from ChinaCases.Org; when you visit the official ChinaCases.Org website and participate in activities organized by us; when you use our other online services; and when you follow ChinaCases.Org on social media.

3.2 Information we collect when we provide products or services includes but is not limited to:
Details about how you use ChinaCases.Org (including information about your browsing, downloads, use and purchases).  

3.3 Cookie
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about how you use ChinaCases.Org. You understand and agree that we will use the information collected through cookies in combination with your other information. Most web browsers turn on cookies automatically. You may adjust your browser settings anytime and turn off cookies. As cookies enable us to provide you with better and more personalized services, turning off cookies may render some ChinaCases.Org services and features unavailable to you.

4. How We Share, Transfer and Publicly Disclose Your Personal Information

We respect your privacy and abide by the applicable laws and regulations. We undertake that we will keep your personal information collected strictly confidential and will not sell it to others illegally.

4.1 How we share information

4.1.1 To launch high-quality and up-to-date products and services, we will probably provide third-party partners with your personal information as needed. Our authorized partners are not entitled to use the shared personal information for any other purpose.
Presently, our authorized partners fit into the following types: third-party service providers (e.g., suppliers, service providers and other partners) we have engaged to offer relevant services, including but not limited to carrying out cooperative technology R&D, delivering customer services, facilitating payments, analyzing data, providing marketing support, conducting a customer satisfaction survey, dealing with customer inquiries and processing customer requests.

4.1.2 As stipulated by laws and regulations or as mandated by the competent authorities, your personal information may be shared without your prior authorization.
Only with your explicit consent shall we share your personal information with or supply it to parties other than those mentioned in Article 4.1.1 and 4.1.2.

4.2 How we transfer information
We will not transfer your personal information to any company, organization or individual unless you have given explicit consent.

4.3 How we publicly disclose information
We will publicly disclose your personal information only under the following circumstances:
4.3.1 You have given your explicit consent;
4.3.2 We will disclose your personal information as mandated by laws, legal procedures, lawsuits or the competent authorities; or, to protect the intellectual property rights of ChinaCases.Org and relevant institutions, we will disclose your personal information, including your acts of violations, if you have materially violated the relevant rules and regulations of ChinaCases.Org.

4.4 We will confirm the third-party management system and transmission risks before sharing, transferring and publicly disclosing personal information.

4.5 Please note that as specified by applicable laws, the sharing and transfer of personal information that has been anonymized and cannot be restored to its original personally identifiable form, does not constitute external sharing, transfer or public disclosure of personal information. The storage and processing of such information do not require your separate notification or consent.  

5. How We Protect Your Personal Information

We take appropriate and reasonable security measures that conform to industry standards to protect the personal information you provide to us from unauthorized access, public disclosure, misuse, alteration, destruction or loss.

We take appropriate and reasonable measures to ensure that irrelevant personal information is not collected.

We will regularly update this Policy and release a safety risk report. It is viewable on the ChinaCases.Org official website.

In the case of a personal information security incident, we will inform you promptly. When it is difficult for us to inform you on an individual basis, we will issue an announcement in a reasonable and effective way. Meanwhile, as required by the regulatory authorities, we will actively report how we cope with the personal information security incident.

The internet environment is not 100% secure. Despite the aforementioned security measures, please also understand that there are no "perfect security measures" online. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure your personal information security.

6. Your Data Protection Rights

You may choose not to provide your personal information to us, but we are likely unable to provide you with ChinaCases.Org products or services or address any problems you face when using them. We will not be liable for any loss you may suffer as a result.

If you choose to provide your personal information to us, we will ensure you may exercise the following rights to your personal information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations:

6.1 Accessing your personal information
You have the right to access or edit personal information in your account, change your password, add security information or close your account.

6.2 Updating your personal information
You have the right to ask us to correct your personal information that we collect, store and use.

6.3 Deleting your personal information
You may ask us to delete your personal information. If we decide to respond to your request, we will also do our best to notify third-party service providers that have obtained your personal information from us, and ask them to delete it promptly, unless otherwise stipulated by laws and regulations or authorized by you separately.
After you have deleted or we have assisted you in deleting your personal information, we will probably not immediately delete the relevant information from our backup system due to applicable laws and security technologies; however, we will delete it when the backup is updated.
If some information cannot be completely deleted due to the need to keep it for future reference, we will anonymize it so that it can no longer be traced to individuals.

6.4 Changing the scope of your authorized consent
You may change the scope of personal information you authorize us to collect and process, withdraw your consent or unsubscribe by changing your app's settings or contacting us with the contact information provided in the "Contact Us" section.
After you have withdrawn your consent or authorization, we will no longer provide you with the services requiring your consent or authorization nor process relevant personal information. Withdrawing your consent or authorization will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal.

6.5 Responding to your above requests
To ensure your information security, you probably will need to submit the above requests in writing, and we may ask you to verify your identity to help us respond efficiently to your requests.

7. How We Update This Policy

We may modify this Policy, and will publish any changes herein on www.ChinaCases.Org. In case of significant changes that will have a significant impact on the collection, storage and use of your personal information (e.g., alteration in contact details and channels for complaints), we will inform you of the specific changes.
